Director of Software Development or Software Development Manager (either consider based upon experience)

HiSoftware is currently seeking a software development leader that will be responsible for the management of the company’s software development projects. This is a hands-on technical position with supervisor (20%), programming (50%) and corporate and strategic (30%) responsibilities. Position requires the management of a rapidly growing programming team working on compliance and standards monitoring for Web 2.0-based applications.

Will be responsible for:

  • Implementation and enforcement of application system guidelines and development best practices.
  • Advise management on appropriate software development processes.
  • Hiring, training and mentoring of team staff.
  • Setting and meeting development goals and schedule deliverables.
  • Technical and administrative oversight of development of various software based on .asp, .net and C,C++, C# with SQL database, HTML/XHTML and JavaScript.

Requirements are:

  • Minimum 3 years heavy experience in one or more C#, C++, XHTML / HTML, .asp, .net. and SQL. MSFT SharePoint or other CMS systems a plus.
  • Must be able to work hands on with programming and manage a growing development team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or higher.

Project Manager

HiSoftware is seeking a Product Manager who is responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing requirements, defining the products development tasks, and working closely with engineering, clients, and marketing to deliver professional grade compliance solutions. It also includes working with sales and services to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple products or a product line with little direct supervision. Shapes and/or champions new direction for the product.
  • Prepares and presents the business case supporting a particular product and/or product line.
  • Evaluates and drives product management processes (e.g., pricing strategy, product positioning and long term strategic business plans).
  • Ensures the right blend of trade-offs to maximize the product impact in the marketplace.
  • Manages the collection and definition of candidate features and function across all cross-functional areas resulting in the Product Requirements Document.
  • Gathers and analyzes data from all sources, e.g., customer requirements, market analysis data, revenue numbers. Analyzes and understands competitors and their solutions.

Constructing QA test plans, carrying out these plans and bug tracking and reporting will be required. Database experience as well as .net programming knowledge will be required. Accessibility Consultant

The Accessibility Consultant will perform a variety of consultative and assessment activities for clients. The Accessibility Consultant will work directly to deliver formal assessments, maintain accessibility standards and deliver onsite consultative advice.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years experience working in technical consulting position.
  • Technical familiarity with web based technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, PDF and electronic document creation and publishing processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.
  • Technical familiarity with software development lifecycle and systems integration processes.
  • BS or relevant degree in computer programming or management information systems

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with relevant accessibility standards including WCAG, Section 508 and related standards is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies including JAWS, Window-Eyes, Dragon Dictate, MAGic and / or ZoomText.
